HAPPY EASTER! -- Free Day

We had the option of doing a tour of some sort today but decided not to. Beibei woke up at 5:30 and didn't want to go back to sleep. We changed her and had some "tummy time" and woke up at 7:00. Much better!

We got ready and put her in a pretty springy dress for Easter. The one I had bought and had decided would be her Easter dress is a 12-month size so is too big. So we used one we got here. She's so cute! We went down to breakfast and there were SO MANY people eating today! They offered for us to eat upstairs today and lead us to the lounge area -- couches to sit on, no high chairs. They explained since this is Easter, people from Hong Kong and Macau come to spend the weekend here. It's also a Chinese holiday weekend. I think they called it "Ching Ling." Also, the International Trade Fair starts in a couple of days. So they have many people convering on Guangzhou for many different reasons. We made the best of the situation. Beibei ate a whole croissant and several scrambled eggs on top of the formula earlier!

After breakfast we exchanged some money and got another case of water delivered to our room. Then we went down to the lobby and took Easter pictures in front of an Easter bunny display. Then we stopped at Michael's Place to borrow a stroller. Beibei doesn't like high chairs or strollers, I think because she's more "alone" and would rather be held. We went to the "no pressure" store to buy some things. Before we got there a man started talking to us asking where we were from. He said his name was Jordon and this was his store. That's where we were headed! He offered to write Beibei's new American name in calligraphy, no charge. Great! While he did that we looked around and picked out some things to buy. We also had a picture taken with him and the finished calligraphy and Beibei and me. Then we went back around to exchange the shoes that we didn't get to last night because the shop was closed. We got a smaller pair of red squeaky sandals that fit her better. By the time we finished there, Beibei was hungry or tired or both so we quickly returned the stroller and came back to the room for formula. She was not tired, though! Tony went to get us some lunch from Lucy's and I was able to get lots of smiles, laughs and even some belly laughs out of her! It's so funny!

Tony brought back a club sandwich and sweet & sour chicken. The chicken tasted better than the club sandwich. And we found out Beibei likes French Fries -- but not ketchup or tomatoes! Then we took a nap. :-)

Our daily visit to the play room is always a hit. Beibei can walk, run, dance, yell like she yells and smiles and laughs! It's so fun to watch her! We think she's already gotten better at walking in the 5 days since she was placed into our lives. Oh, and she also likes to CLIMB!

We are getting really anxious to come home. I miss drinkable tap water. Tony misses his own bed. The bed here is HARD! It's like sleeping on a box springs. We both miss our family and friends! We have to get the visa picture taken tomorrow and go over paperwork.

We went shopping for more baby clothes but Beibei doesn't like to shop and gets squirmy so Tony took her back to the room while I shopped. I found a couple toys and an outfit. I went and posted this post and will go up to the room for quiet time.

See how fast she is blossoming! God has given this little girl such a great gift--parents who love her. That is His plan for all children. We can hardly wait to have you all home!
