Time to Nudge (Push) a Little Bit

Today I emailed our contact at CIS saying I understand that our home study had been sent to the CIS office and to make sure she has all the needed information to set up the fingerprint appointment. This is my way of "pushing" just a little to get things moving along. We'll see if it helps.

Home Study is DONE and Sent

Today we received the notarized home study with a letter saying that he had also sent a copy to CIS. Every little step counts!

Waiting Children

Today we received an email from CHI about the new Waiting Children procedures. Our dossier must be in China before we can get on the list for a waiting child.

Home Study OK

I called Dick today to ask him a question and I also asked if he'd heard from CHI yet about the home study. He said he had just gotten it faxed back from them with only a couple of changes and he should be able to finalize it tomorrow. Yippee!

China Program Update - 5/9/08

The China Program Update email for today said that they are estimating a 29 month wait at this time.

Everytime we get one of these emails I think "if we could just get our dossier to China NOW, our wait will already be started." Our wait won't start until our dossier gets to China and the CCAA (China Center for Adoption Affairs) gives us a Log In Date (LID). When our dossier goes to China, that's one date (DTC = Dossier To China). Then about a week or so later we will get our LID. But getting our paperwork completed is the thing to do right now and the sooner we get that all done, the better.

Home Study to CHI

Got a call from Dick saying that he has faxed the home study to CHI/KC for them to look over and he expects their OK on it soon.

Home Study corrections

Tony dropped off the home study envelope to NCHS at noon.

Picked up the Home Study

May 2, 2008: I still have NO voice but I picked up the Home Study to review it over the weekend for accuracy.

We looked it over and I made grammar/spelling/punctuation and fact corrections and then printed it out again and put other notes on it for him to correct as he needs to. I had this all done by Saturday afternoon.

New Tree

I have NO voice today but went to pick out a new tree for our yard with the money and gift certificates we received for Christmas. I picked out an Autumn Blaze Maple and was able to get through it all with a whisper! He was very nice and even gave us a deal on the tree and the planting.
