When I got home last night I emailed the Chinese characters to Beibei's name to our Chinese teacher (who I'd spoken to earlier in the day) to have her tell us what they meant. I had found the "Bei" character online and she confirmed that it meant "flower's bud" and it stands for "beauty". The character used for "Qian" is the one used for "money" and is a common surname. So we will work her name now into the name we give her.
I was so glad to leave work today so there were no more chances of "slipping" to any of my co-workers! Now we just have to get through Thanksgiving Day at Tony's family's house tomorrow. Friday will be easy for me because I'll just stay home, lock the cats in the basement, put up the tree and then sit down and crochet on Beibei's afghan while I watch the NU-CU game! We're both rather "bursting" right now but have decided that our parents should know first. We keep discussing how to tell them--quickly or just lead into it.
