Express Train to Zhengzhou

Our train left at 9 am so we had to be up, eat breakfast and get to the train station by 8 or so.  The station was a new building.  I think they forgot to heat it!  It was HUGE and very cold inside -- just as cold as it was outside!  The seats to wait on were metal so we didn't sit down :-).  Sean waited with us until we had to leave.

Every day they changed the carpet/rug in the elevator to tell you what day it is!

It was VERY cold in there and putting my hood on helped keep me warmer!

 

 

Our train was G2004.

 

Our seat numbers were right next to each other but we were not sitting together.  We both had window seats on opposite sides of the train.  I decided to take whatever pictures I could of the countryside we traveled through.  During the 2-hour train ride with 3 stops before our final stop I took about 100 pictures.  Here's just a few of the better ones.  Now, remember, we were on an EXPRESS train so sometimes there are poles in the way of my one shot pictures.  No second chances!

 

Many fields.  It was winter so I don't know what they were growing.  Not sure what was green!

 

I saw several of these.  I wonder if they are tombs that they bury their deceased in.  Not sure.

All of the main highways look pretty new and modern.

 

More terracing so they can farm more of the land.

Building more roads!

 

You see this ALL OVER China!  Building multiple apartment buildings.  How to they have people to go in them?  Or are they planning for the future?

We walked to Walmart and found this nearby.

 

Apartment buildings!  This is how they get millions of people in their cities.  They stack them on top of each other!

 

Tony was always interested in the various types of vehicles and the loads they carried.  I'll try to sprinkle some of those pictures in as we go, too.
